Anti-Vaxxers vs The Facts

In all their self-righteous glory of misplaced passion, these dubious crusaders with a catchy name, never grasped –or couldn’t care less about-- the consequences of their actions on the community at large. Non-vaccinated kids are walking ordnance of biological warfare, with measles and other once-conquered afflictions ready to strike the vulnerable. People have fallen ill and died as a result of these medical naysayers. Perhaps the supporters feel some power in saying no to science, rebuffing doctors, rejecting experts, as if their beliefs are superior to facts.

We can only wonder what the current Covid-19 crisis will do to the anti-vaxxer crowd. The world’s medical research groups have martialed up their powers, racing against time for a goal of unprecedented global commonality—a vaccine to ward off Coronavirus. One can only wonder if these people will take a number for the life -saving serum once discovered, or double down their attacks with misinformation. Will they march on the Capitol without physical distancing so they can all die by the time they reach the steps?

The signs are not good that these people are on board with the world. Conspiracy theories and battle plans rather than public health appear to be the mindset. The world will shun those whose ignorance and cultish beliefs hamper the soldiers working to save so many lives.

Their wild notions are like selfies—they are shooting themselves. Time will tell, but TGBL bets the house Covid-19 brings down the anti-vaxxers. After all, what protection do they have?
